Best Truck Dispatch Companies in Illinois, Compared
Reviewed by the Bonafide Dispatch Team · Updated October 4, 2026 · Competitor facts checked October 4, 2026
The best truck dispatch company for an Illinois carrier publishes its price, signs you to no long contract, lets you approve every load, books your trailer type, and never touches your load pay. Below, five services that market to Illinois carriers are checked against those tests, using only facts from their own websites.
How We Compared the Best Truck Dispatch Companies Illinois Carriers Use
There's no overall #1 on this page. Every service gets the same eight checks, and you decide which ones matter for your truck.
| Check | What we looked for | Why it matters to you |
|---|---|---|
| Real business | A legal name and an address on the company's own site | You can look the name up on the Illinois Secretary of State business search, or the home state's search for out-of-state firms |
| Dispatcher, not a broker | You see the broker's original rate con, and the dispatcher never collects your load pay | FMCSA's 2023 guidance says a dispatcher that books for several carriers and decides which carrier hauls a load needs broker authority |
| Price published | A number on the site, not just "call us" | You can compare before your first call |
| What the fee is charged on | Gross, linehaul (rate without fuel) or all-in (rate plus fuel surcharge) | The same percentage costs more on the all-in total |
| How you pay | A percentage per load, or a weekly fee | A weekly fee is still due when the truck sits for repairs or weather |
| Contract | Length and how to cancel | A long lock-in keeps you paying for a service that isn't working |
| No forced dispatch | A written policy that you approve every load | Forced dispatch means being told to run a load you didn't agree to |
| Your trailer | Which of the 7 trailer types they list | A box truck desk in Chicago and a flatbed desk in Peoria are different jobs |
Why the broker check matters
FMCSA can't regulate dispatch services unless they also act as brokers, freight forwarders or motor carriers. Congress ordered its 2023 guidance in the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Unlicensed brokering carries a civil penalty of up to $10,000 per violation under 49 U.S.C. § 14916.
If someone "dispatching" you also collects shipper or broker money, or picks which carrier gets the load, ask whether they hold broker authority. Read how a dispatcher differs from a broker.
Claims we couldn't verify — and left out
- Average rate-per-mile figures with no source behind them
- "Same-day first load" promises
- Star ratings in a site's page code with no review platform linked
- The same testimonials, word for word, on two different dispatch company websites
- Details in other "best of" lists that contradict the company's own site. One national list puts FleetCare in Schaumburg, for example, while FleetCare's own site shows Burr Ridge.
If we couldn't trace a fact to the company's own site, it isn't on this page.

Which Kind of Dispatch Service Fits Your Truck
- You run every week, high miles. A flat fee charged by the week can cost less than a percentage. But if the truck sits a week, you still pay. Compare both in percentage vs flat-fee dispatch.
- Your weeks swing. A percentage charged only on booked loads costs nothing on a dead week. Ask whether it's charged on linehaul or the all-in total.
- You pull a box truck or hotshot around Chicago or downstate. Check the trailer list first. Four of the five services list box truck; FleetCare's site doesn't. See box truck dispatch and hotshot dispatch.
- You run conestoga or step deck around Peoria or the Quad Cities. Only FF Dispatch, Resolute and Bonafide list conestoga. Start with conestoga dispatch and step deck dispatch.
- You run a 2–15 truck fleet and want a set dispatcher. Ask how many trucks each dispatcher handles. FleetCare publishes a cap of 5; the others didn't on the pages we checked.
- You're tired of running your own authority. Lease-on deals (FleetCare Group, FF Dispatch) put your truck under their authority, and FF Dispatch lists a 75/25 split. That's a different deal from dispatch under your own MC, so read the terms line by line.
- You want to keep everything in your name. Look for a written promise that you keep your MC, your insurance, your factoring company and the broker's original rate con.
Plug any quote you get into the dispatch fee calculator with last month's gross.

Illinois Dispatch Company FAQs
Who are the best truck dispatch companies serving Illinois?
No single service is best for every truck. The right one publishes its price, signs no long contract, lets you approve every load and dispatches your trailer. This page compares FF Dispatch, FleetCare Group, Goals Dispatch, O Trucking, Resolute Logistics and Bonafide on those checks.
Are any truck dispatch companies based in Illinois?
In our October 2026 check, only FleetCare Group showed an Illinois address (Burr Ridge) on its own site. The others list Delaware, "USA, Canada," or no location. Bonafide works remotely. Most dispatch runs by phone and email.
Is this comparison independent?
No. Bonafide Trucking Solutions wrote it, and we're one of the options. That's why we don't rank anyone first, and why every competitor fact links to that company's own page with the date we checked it.
Which Illinois dispatchers publish their prices?
FF Dispatch, FleetCare Group, O Trucking and Resolute Logistics post numbers on their sites. O Trucking and Resolute each show two different schedules. Goals Dispatch and Bonafide quote on a call. Get any price in writing before your first load.
Do I need a dispatcher located in Illinois?
No. What matters is whether they know your trailer and your lanes, like box truck freight around Chicago or flatbed out of Peoria. On the first call, ask where your truck reloads after it delivers in your area.
How many trucks should one dispatcher handle?
Ask before you sign. FleetCare Group publishes a cap of 5 trucks per dispatcher. The other services didn't publish one on the pages we checked.
How do I check a dispatch company is a real business?
Search its legal name on the Illinois Secretary of State business search, or its home state's search. Confirm staff email from the company's own domain, and look for reviews on a third-party site such as the Better Business Bureau. For fee red flags, see what dispatch costs in Illinois. Want Bonafide's Number in Writing?
Tell us your trailer and lanes. Your quote comes on a free consultation, with no contracts and no setup fees.
A dispatcher calls you from (312) 489-8956 — response within 60 minutes during business hours. No obligation. No contracts.
